When I started this blog a year ago I did plan to keep it up to date with details of all my submissions. Now I have around 40 submissions out at any one time, not to mention my novel which is now floating around looking for representation, there just isn't the time to write about them all. I do have some more good news though:
Goldfish Grimm's Spicy Fiction Sushi. I am really glad this story found a great home as it proves that both persistence and hard work pay off in the writing world as poor Fenella has endured a few cuts and polishes over the last year while still managing to retain her essence. It is the first story I wrote when I embarked on my journey back into writing so it is nice that it will actually be my first story into print. You can read it, along with an interview with me, here from September 4th.
I also had a near miss with my story 'Mrs Abingdon' which made the final round of Allegory Magazine Issue 19. Although it didn't make the final cut, it did receive an honourable mention.
I have now started the process of submitting my novel, From the Sidelines, to agents and have already received my first request for a full manuscript. It's a small boost, but it is good to know the pitch has the power to get pulled from the slush pile and the novel will have a chance to fall or stand on its own merits. Fingers crossed...
And that's it for now. Hopefully I will have more news soon.
